Responding to Hunger Together

Responding to Hunger Together

Responding to Hunger Together

As we observe Yom Kippur and reflect on those who are food-insecure, we invite you to help by:

  • Making a financial contribution to Mazon (a Jewish response to hunger) and/or;

  • Bringing non-perishable food to services on Kol Nidre or Yom Kippur which we will deliver to Jacobs and Cushman San Diego Food Bank.

Community Care Protocols

Responding to Hunger Together

Responding to Hunger Together

To protect our community during the High Holidays, we’re following simple, caring practices:

  • Stay home if sick or recently positive. Join via livestream and return when fever-free for 24 hours (without meds) and symptoms are improving
  • Masks are welcome and strongly encouraged for anyone with recent exposure; complimentary masks and sanitizer at all entrances
  • Mask-preferred seating and increased ventilation where possible
  • Recent exposure or new symptoms? Please perform an at-home test before attending
  • Respectful connection: please ask before hugs/handshakes. If you develop symptoms after attending, kindly let us know at ShirHaYamSD@gmail.com

Thank you for helping keep services accessible to all

We're excited to announce that Shir Ha-Yam will be offering High Holiday services for the very first time! This marks a meaningful milestone in our community's journey together.

We are honored to welcome members of the Elijah Minyan as part of our community, and honor the legacy of Rabbi Dosick, z”l, whose vision and spirit helped nurture a vibrant Renewal presence in San Diego.

High Holiday tickets are included with annual membership.
Non-members may purchase tickets for all High Holiday activities for $108, or for individual sets of holiday services for $54 each. Children under 18 attend at no charge.

If you purchase High Holiday tickets and chose to become a member by October 15, your ticket cost will be credited toward membership—you’ll just pay the difference.

Streaming Option:
Available for out-of-town non-members for $54.

High Holiday Prep

Elul ~ I Am My Beloved’s: Spiritual Preparation for the High Holy Days

Via Zoom With R. Diane Elliot & R. David Baron | Sunday, August 31 & Wednesday, September 3  | 7-8:30PM

The month of Elul is a traditional time for introspection and heart-opening as we prepare for the High Holy Days, guided by the phrase from Song of Songs, “Ani L’dodi V’dodi Li”—“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.” In two connected workshops, we’ll explore the path of teshuvah—returning to Source—through music, movement, study, and reflection, as we begin to build the sacred container that will carry us into the new year together.
