 Dear Community Member,
 

We hope that you experienced meaningful High Holy Days, and you are renewed and refreshed as we begin 5785. 
 

As many of you know, Shir Ha-Yam (SHY) has been a special place for exploring Jewish Renewal in San Diego for over 30 years. Through volunteer efforts, we’ve created a welcoming and unique space where we can connect with each other and the Divine in meaningful and transformative ways—whether it’s through Shabbat meditation services, chanting, spirit music jam sessions, or other spiritually enriching events.
 

This year, we hope to expand our offerings with even more opportunities for spiritual growth and personal connection with a springtime Shabbaton (spiritual weekend), Kabbalistic Kirtan (chanting) and the creation of several new committees (Social Justice, Bikkur Cholim - visiting the sick, and a Book Club). SHY stands apart from traditional synagogues, offering an alternative for those seeking to deepen their Jewish experience in innovative ways. We are proud of the community we’ve built together.
 

However, to continue growing and offering these impactful experiences, we rely on the support of our members. If you’ve enjoyed our gatherings and felt nourished by the experiences we’ve shared, we warmly invite you to join us as a paying member this year. Your support is essential to helping us thrive. Our dues are a fraction of the cost of conventional synagogues.
 

We believe in creating a space where everyone can connect meaningfully, and your commitment helps make that possible. Thank you for considering this important step. We look forward to growing together in spirit and community.
